Behind the names...

It has been a long time that it is already scratched on mind to post about this topic. The reason being is that I often use different names in different social medias. Most of them are not my original name. Some people are wondering why.

So, peeking the title above. Name?? I thought it is the most common simple thing everybody knows about. Name is a term or a word used for identification, either to particular person or object. And here I am going to tell what happens with me and my name, or names.

First of all, i feel truly blessed to be born with a graceful name.
"Muhammad Iqbal"
A concise two words, but those have very exquisite meaning.
Back then, my beloved parents were rather confused about what name they would give to their first baby on June 20th 1993.
What I heard from the story, my grandpa suggested to add 'Tawakal' tagged along. 'Tawakal' in Islam is a concept of reliance on God or trusting in God's plan. But my parents did not agree. They stated that they were afraid their baby would be somewhat coward once he grew, as the word also implies a form of relinquishing. Even though that does not precisely align, there their opinions go..
Well, whatever that stood for, who am I to argue?
Muhammad is the last prophet in my religion, the wonderful one who brought enlightenment to the world.
Iqbal, my parents alleged that it is the name of former president of Pakistan.
After I searched, Muhammad Iqbal was a famous poet and philosopher in India. I also ever tried to find the meaning, said that Iqbal means "a moslem poet".
Again, I know that my parents want me, someday, to become an indeed influencial person. =)

10 years I grew, I began to mingle with my friends. I ever thought to find another name for my self. Until now, I do not know what kind of motivation that made me did so. But i do realize that I am kind of a thinker, relishing daydreamer, and like to imagine, even ever since that time.

The first artificial name I created was: "Djack"
yeahhh.. hahaha..
I do not know whether it has a particular meaning, but I remember that it uses "Dj" (not a common 'Jack") because I took it from my mother's name.
No need to mention my her name here, rite?? hehe..
When I began to know the internet virtual world, I began to utilize my artificial names. Until now, none of my names in the internet are real. Even though people insist that we have to actually put my real name in the internet, particularly in the social medias in order that we may be easily identified, I say no. We have a right for whatever we eager to do in whichever sphere, without being necessarily obliged to conform society's construction of conventional ideas.
And for the first time I used the name in Friendster, which was at the top of fame at that moment. (You may check it on http://www.friendster.com/djackmuhymuhie, but I think it has already vanished)

Then, the second name I made was: "Muhan Nosagava"
This is the first time I publicly reveal the meaning and the rationale behind the name. I have never told anyone about this, including in the social media.
So, the reason before the name is (TARAAAAA!!!):
When I created this name, I made a contemplation. I attempted to create such a cool and meaningful name. I tried to arrange and adjust word, and that eventually came to: 'muhan nosagaba' (abbreviated of 'mudah-mudahan jadi nomor satu segala yang baik' or 'hopefully become the number one in every good thing')
But because I felt the name sounded  kinda peculiar, I modified it to 'muhan nosagava', changed the 'b' to be 'v'.
hehehe..
I use this name so rarely, but that does not mean that i am not proud to use it for certain occasions.
(My Twitter's name "Shagava" refers to this name)
B-)

But adversely, some years later my friend witnessed me using this name when we were playing video game and he complaint, "Who is Nosagava? your girl??"
Owh GOSH, I felt quite affronted. Because the adolescent myself that time was very susceptible, I decided to change the name to be "Muhan Nosicky"
There was neither particular meaning nor reference to this name, the intention behind was just to make the name sound more 'masculine'..
Nevertheless, the 'Nosagava' name was never banished, and I still use both and have no problem with them.

The last but probably not least, the name which most of my current friends and acquaintances acknowledge. (Because I have published it online from the very first place).
It is "Qabli" (*applause !!)
hehehe..
This name emerged the first time when I was creating my Facebook account, since I also rather have principle to not use my original name in online world.
I try to modify and adjust my real name, and found this artificial name.
It came when I wrote my name in Arabic alphabets. I slightly changed the apostrophe, so came this name!! heehe..
(If you understand written Arabic letters, just write my real name, and change the kasrah, fathah, or the harakat.. I forgot the terms.. hehe..)
I use this name in my Facebook, Twitter, even in this blog's URL and name..
hahahha..

That's all what I want to share. Notably, it does not mean that i do not appreciate my original name given by my beloved parents. I really love my own name, the prayer inside, and inspiration emerging from it.
Basically, I envy my sister whose name is very long. And me?? a bunch of quite two words. She has many nicknames, and me?? ONE.. -,-
hahahaha..
Just kidding, it does not really matter me anyhow..

Name. given by your parents (or grandparents, relatives, or whoever) is a prayer, bless, form of love, and wish. It is also a protection to protect you, so that you always do, behave, act, and think as appropriate as your name..
Out there, many people create names as a label, a double-self, a luck, etc.
No wonder many artists create and use many names and alter-egos..
For me personally, name is a creativity..
Thank you for reading.. =)
